Precept Upon Precept Inductive Studies . . . Isaiah Part 1 - The Word of the Holy One to Israel, the Remnant, and the Nations. . . and the Promise of the Child to Be Born (14 lessons) (chapters 1 - 39) - Lecture Set on CD, DVD or MP3 (Kay Arthur or Pete De Lacy) - Isaiah is the crown jewel of Old Testament prophets, a book that strikes awe in the heart of its reader, especially when its poetry is read in the Hebrew. Prophecies from Isaiah are mentioned in twenty-two places in the Gospels, Acts, and Romans. The words of Isaiah were often found on the lips of the Christ, the Messiah prophesied in Isaiah. If Jesus, God incarnate, honored this grand and glorious book so highly, then you and I ought to do the same. In Isaiah Part 1, we'll meet the Holy One of Israel, and learn how He deals with those who claim Him as God but don't honor Him as God in the way that they live. And we'll find the destiny of nations, the future of all mankind ... including ours. Produced: 2007

(Lectures are approximately 60-minutes but lengths vary, so see individual CD, DVD, or MP3 file for length. CDs and DVDs are sold in sets of 14 disks, 1 lesson per disk.  MP3s sold individually, or in sets of 14 lessons with 1 lesson per file.)

I have done numerous Precept upon Precept studies since 2001, including Revelation, Hebrews, Genesis through 2 Samuel, 1 Peter, Daniel, Philippians, and now Isaiah. I'm enjoying the workbook very much, and wanted to use the DVDs as I had in the past to enhance my understanding of the material. In previous studies, the tapes / DVDs we've watched have mostly featured Kay as the instructor, but on occasion other instructors have been featured and have been easy to relate to and excellent facilitators! I decided to choose the DVD set for Isaiah part 1 featuring Pete DeLacy. While I don't question his godliness, I'm not relating to him as a speaker. For the first time ever, I'm finding that I'm not looking forward to viewing the DVD portion of the study. I've watched the first 3 lessons, and consistently find myself struggling to relate to him and his style. I love the study, and desperately want to solidify my understanding through this important component of auditory and visual learning, but am not happy with these DVDs featuring Pete DeLacy. I phoned Precepts this morning to speak w/ a customer service rep to ask if I could please exchange my DVDs for a set featuring Kay as the facilitator. I was told that their policy is no exchanges for any reason unless the product is damaged. I understand the importance of having good business processes and guidelines, but am terribly disappointed that an organization who does such a good job of developing materials God can and has used to draw people to Himself doesn't have any policies around customer satisfaction with their products. I have NEVER even thought of returning or exchanging a single piece of material I've purchased from Precepts for nearly 10 years... and it's terribly disappointing to see the ministry not having business processes in alignment with what they have demonstrated throughout the years to be their heart for making disciples, and truly engaging students in Bible Study.
